Mother inherited property from her father ( my nana ji)

Facts of the Case :

My mother inherited a house from her Father ( my Nana Ji) in the year 1958. Since then we have been living in this house as a joint family but with separate kitchen, common passage, Separate Jal Board Water Connection, separate electricity meter, House tax are shared among all the five sons of my mother.

As this property is inherited by mother and still in her name. My other three brother are presurrising my mother to will the property in their name and evict us from the house.

Questions :

1. Is it possible that my mother can disown us and name this inherited property in the name of other three brother and not giving anything to rest of the two brothers?

2. Can brother do the same by occupying more of the share under their possession?

3. If I serve a notice for the partition, will that be effective and my share be carved out from this property?

Please guide us as to the steps to be followed.

Kindest regards
