1. In a KPO (Back Office) of a bank where I used to work, we were given tasks which were physically impossible for a human being to complete them.
a. For e.g. we were given only 15 to 20 minutes or maximum half an hour to note down the check details which have been given for forwarding the request for stop payment and processing more steps irrespective of whether there are few 10 or 15 cheques or whether they are more than one hundred. I believe that even if we feed these information on the Computer and try to forward them then it would also get hanged.
b. In another situation, a haughty woman called the Branch and asked the subordinate to enter the details quickly as interest needs to be paid. When the subordinate said that there are more than one hundred entries so at such a short notice details cannot be entered. To this the woman rebuked the subordinate.
2. Second issue is that we often get blamed without the Supervisor and Managers investigating the situation to check that it was whose mistake.
a. Once a set of documents of two separate customers were sent together by mistakenly getting attached with each other and the Dravidian Supervisor without investigating the case and collecting evidences started blaming me for the same. After the documents came back from branch office and it was proved that it was my subordinate who mistakenly attached those documents and not me and that Supervisor from Chennai baselessly blamed me, the Supervisor just said ‘sorry’ and moved on.
b. In another case, once the Scanner got hanged and I told my female colleague that the document cannot be scanned because it is showing that it has hanged when she was saying that I am slow at work. I told her to come and check for herself that there is an error shown in the Computer that the Scanner has hanged, she haughtily said that I must have deliberately put a piece of paper in the inner part of the scanner to make it look like an error and later taken it out. I asked her to verify with my subordinates that whether I have done this or not who were present with me at that time but she did not verify that.
c. One more incident happened where I was blamed without proof and investigation. The same haughty woman called the Branch said that I had not mentioned that a transaction number of a scanned document in the Computer was not to be forwarded, whereas I had explained to my female colleague who had blamed me in the above, to mention it because my Manager had instructed me to not to write anything on printed paper and that haughty woman was gossiping on the telephone and I had a deadline to meet. However, she did not inform her and she blamed me for the transaction being forwarded by mistake.
d. I got a memo from my superiors without any evidences attached with the memo.
3. After few weeks, my Supervisor asked me to give my resignation else she would fire me from her own will. I asked her to give evidence regarding that but she did not do so.
I know that Supervisors and Managers should be respected but a subordinate should be rational at the same time.
