Medical Documents From a pregnant woman

Hi, am currently pregnant and have requested my society to allow a cook as am unable to cook owing to associated pregnancy sickness. The management committee has asked me to furnish a medical document stating that I need help. I want to check if this a legal ask? I am 18 weeks pregnant
