Legal process for tracing cell tower?

It is their duty to locate the tower of mobile.

Immediately file application and seek information under RTI Act on action initiated on your complaint and present status of FIR NO..............

You can search website of District Police and you have to send application in proper format and fees as per RTI rules and regulations as stated in their website.  Please post application by local speed post.

Every District Supd of Police has to observe Monday as grievance day, acknowledge such grievance petition, and redress grievance within a time frame, hence use that opportunity, if it is available on line or personally deliver the petition and get acknowledgment.

Please, please do not deal any matter directly with Police and do not take law into your hands, as you can not do any thing yourself by locating cell towers.  It is their routine job and it takes maximum of 7 days to trace the nuisance calls for police.  Any complaint against police may irritate them, as these are very small crimes according to them when compared with security arrangements to VIPS.

When a reply has been given, atleast think for a minute, as to what was actually the guidance.  You as a citizen can not do any thing on police on such silly cases except irritating them.  (We can understand the nuisance and mental agony of such calls & SMS, and unless they receive some thing, they do not get interest)  There is a separate cell 'Cyber Crime" and it takes minutes for them to trace the calls.  Commence with RTI Application and escalate it to grievance redressal.  Without trying any thing, you wanted to investigate in your own manner by tracing a tower, every one has one excuse or other.  Just think seriously and avoid taking law into your hands.  You can not do any thing, even if you trace that cell.  If you are so much interested, give that number to any i phone owner that is having "True caller" App and get the address or entrust this to a private detective agency.  (Every one of us are aware that such culprits are more smarter than common man, and always use fake identity in their SIMS)

In your query you have reported that you have already complaint with Cyber cell..  They in turn seek such information through competent officer above the rank of DC or ACP of cyber cell and as now every thing is through electronic mails, they should have secured information by now.

You can now file RTI Application to SPIO, Cyber cell and seek information as follows.

1.Please provide status of investigation for complaint dt....informing steps so far taken.

2.Please provide the area of the cell tower or origin of those nuisance calls.

(Remember, if you are affected party (complainant), then only you can seek such information.  But if you are not a complainant, they may not provide any information if investigation is in process)
