Blocking my passport by wife

We both (me and my wife ) separated each other for a quite long time for almost more than 3+ years and then I moved away from India and working in abroad. Now my mom got a notification from local police station that they want to know my aadhar card, passport and other details, when we enquire further details we came to know that my wife approached social welfare department and filed a petition ( not sure what kind of petition it was) and they wants to collect all these details to submit thru embassy and passport seva office to block my passport. I doubting that she wants to apply for a divorce , so started this process. Now my doubt here is, 1 Without applying any petition in court , are they legally block my passport? 2. If yes, at what ground they can block my passport? 3. If it is blocked , is there any way to revoke before I travelling back to India? 4 what will be the benefit they will get it by blocking the passport. If they want money they can file a petition for interim maintenance or else can file for divorce .

Quick Summary
A man working abroad is concerned after his mother received a police notification requesting his passport and Aadhaar details. He suspects his estranged wife is attempting to block his passport, possibly to facilitate a divorce. The advice suggests that police typically cannot block a passport without a court order. Passport authorities can only block a passport after issuing a show cause notice and considering the individual's response. It is advised to wait for any official court notice before taking further action.

1. The police cannot block your passport on the basis of a complaint under DC act, if at all the police need the details they may have to obtain Aneorder from court in this regard.

2. Presumably the blocking of your passport is your own imagination especially when there's no legal order by any court of law.

3. The passport authorities only can pass any such orders that too after issuing a show cause notice to you and if they are convinced about the statement from your side.

4. First of all you may wait for the notice from court in this regard.

Police have no power / authority to inquire about your present location, status,  aadhar card  or passport details, as stated,  even if your wife or someone else has filed any type of complaint (more particularly in a divorce case, as presument by you).

Unbeleivable facts vis-a-vis query., prima facie  a hypothetical story.
