Hi,

Rather than it is advisable, it is mandatory to register the leave & license agreement.

You have not mentioned whether you are the owner or the tenant here.

A registered L&L agreement always helps you as a strong evidence in case of any conflicts arise in future regarding the terms you have decided. And even an agreement merely on a stamp paper and not registered or just notary registered shall not have a value as an evidence or proof of execution of the same.

Now a days you can also register the L&L agreement online.
