I was harassed by police for an FIR filed against an unknown person.
My ex is from Karnataka, her family is close to the cops and they fed false information only to mess up my life.
The cops gathered my information, including copy of my PASSPORT, and started harassing me to confess, which I refused.
I was never arrested or charged. They took my computer and other personal belongings, filled out a PSR and made me sign it. After that they would ask me to come to the station day after day.
They threatened to mess me up if I didn't confess and asked me to come to the station the next day. This is when I left India.
About a month later, I found out they have gone to my home state and harassed my family. They CLAIMED they have an arrest warrant on me.
I checked https://karnatakajudiciary.kar.nic.in/ but could not find any court orders with my name.
I really don't have the time to waste on court and cops that are being as a instrument of revenge by my in-laws.
Advice on the following is appreciated.
1. Is it possible to have an arrest warrant from Karnataka issued on me even when I cannot find the court order on https://karnatakajudiciary.kar.nic.in/?
2. I need to apply for a PCC. Is it safe to apply for a PCC from the Embassy?
If so, in the application, will it be better to state that I was staying in permanent address in my home state instead of Bangalore? The start of the stay will be a few months after the day my passport was issued and the end would be when I left India.
