How do i pay gst in india for a sole proprietorship?

How do I pay GST in India for a sole proprietorship?

Quick Summary
To pay GST in India as a sole proprietorship, you first need to register for GST using your PAN. The entire process, including return filing, is managed online via the gst.gov.in portal. GST collected on sales is offset against GST paid on business expenses. Any remaining GST payable can be paid online by generating a challan, detailing your business GST number and the amounts of CGST, SGST, and IGST due. Payment can be made through net banking, NEFT, or RTGS, after which you can file your GST return for the month.

The entire process of GST Return Filing is managed online at the portal gst.gov.in. Now for a sole proprietorship GST levied on the invoices generated for Sales shall be set off against the GST paid for expenses and purchase made in the course of Business. The balance GST shall be paid online by generating a Challan and providing the required details such as GST Number of the Business, CGST, SGST and IGST Payable. The payment can be made with the help of Net Banking or NEFT or RTGS. Once the required sum is paid GST Return shall be filed for the respective month.
