Does lawyers charge for delaying the final hearing in the co

plse help,

i have a awaiting divorce , final hearing after 2 months , however i wont be able to attend the court on the said date , both spouses have no issues in postponing the date ,however i would like to know if there is any fees applicable for postponing the date to the very next month ,

my advocate is not telling me the exact fees , i kind of feel he might charge me really good ,

what does the law say?

What you mean to say is that everything is said and over and only divorce is to be granted. You wont be present, and you are asking if lawyer will charge money exhorbitantly. right? After case gets over, he cannot ask any more fees, so this being last, he will ask for more fees.

thank you ....helping hand , but does the law has any fixed fees for this case , or does it depends on lawyer that they can charge anything , i had paid 10000rs for the case already.

If the law were to fix fees for lawyers, casewise, then ram jet malani, kapil sibol, arun jetli would never have become lawyers in the first place, forget aaj kal ke chokre who want to be like tony sebastin.

Its not about what you paid to the lawyer, its always about how much more you will pay to the lawyer as the case is getting over.

pay, get job done. take an oath, never to get into any situation where you would be forced to meet a lawyer again!
