Different maintenance charges in association

Association registered under TN societies registration act 1975. Assn has started charging additional expenses mgt fund for four towers (out of 12 towers). Bye laws don't provide for this. No general body resolutions made to this effect. Assn gives a reply that the collection from this 4 towers is lower than the expenses incurred for these 4 towers. So this decision. What do we do?

Most members shall approve the resolution, and they cannot collect extra charges.  So, complain about the society to the Registrar of Societies of the district.

Dear sir  Thank you for your reply.  Unfortunately we are only 4 towers (300 flats) as against 8 towers (650 flats). So we don't get majority in general body.  We complained to registrar. But without majority they hesitate to take any action.  Thank you

In summary, an apartment association cannot arbitrarily increase maintenance charges on a select group of owners without a valid resolution and justification. Residents have the right to challenge such actions and seek redress through appropriate channels.

You have repeated the same query in a different thread today itself, instead of opening a new thread out of oyur anxiety, you may better post the query in the original thread itself
