Why don't U let the the girls perform cremation rituals ?

Here is the video--

In India, girl child is being killed massively.

The number of girls has decreased substantially. Only 793 girls have remained there against 1000 boys in Punjab, one of the most advance and richest state of India.

I have suggested some ways to bring the society out of this problem.

One is, we should break the age old idea that only the boys have the right to perform the last rituals for the dead. We should allow our girls also to perform the last rituals for the dead. We should break the idea that soul of the dead remains at peace or goes ahead to its destination only if the last rituals are performed by a son of the dead only. Due to this belief which does not have any scientific backing a lot many people of our society go ahead in trying to give birth to a son.

Before adequate contraceptives they used to increase the population, these days they use the contraceptives or go for an abortion when ever they come to know there is a girl in the belly of the mother. Thus they go on increasing the s*x ratio gap.

The second method to tackle this problem is, we should increase earning opportunities for the girls .We have done a lot many things for this purpose as we can see girls working at petrol pumps, we can see girls driving auto rickshaws and taxies. Yet a lot is to be done in this field. Moreover we should make our society safer for women as much as possible.

If all of these steps are taken appropriately, within days we will be able not only to decrease the gap of s*x ratio but get rid of the Dowry problem also.

Plz. contribute.

Very Nobel thought Tusharji.

Things should have been like that only. We r improving in this front, but status issue or ego of men comes in the way. They too get birth from same parent and from same belly and are own blood so why discrimination is there?  Amendment of Succession Act 2005 is a very good step. They must get all the ritual rights which a son has got. We believe that son’s carry forward to our dynasty, but just ask any person about name of his great, great grandfather. Or anybody keep the record of past generations.

All right and Interest of a Girl child be protected, also they should get the conducive environment to grow and prosper. Crime against women must be dealt with iron fist and be trialed in special courts, since they are not only weaker and vulnerable rather sacred gender also.

Right from the social reformer Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Mahatma Gandhi to A P J Abdul Kalam have advocated for the upliftment /empowerment of females/girls and have expressed their deep concern over the condition of girl child .

Also they must get free education up to Matriculation, and 50% fee concession in higher studies.

The main concern of a father and brother of a girl used to be her safety, if that get ensured, then I think no female foeticide will take place.

As u have u has rightly observed that lot more needs to be done.

Dear Tushar and Madhuji,

Is it prohibited any where - except for the norms of the society - which are changing rapidly day in and day out.

Best Regards

Daksh

Society too is gradually accepting this and changing with advancement. Only concern left is safety of girl child.
