Claim

I am Canadian resident. My separated wife is US citizen and we married here in Canada. Our divorce matter is now pending before the court, but hopefully we will grant the mutual divorce.

In the meanwhile, I had a live-in relationship with another lady, who is also Canadian citizen, since last 6 months. I used to live at her house only at the weekends. She got pregnant and forced me to marry her immediately. I refused saying that it will be a criminal offence and I can only marry her after my divorce is granted by court. Then our relationship has been broken up.

She is now saying that she will go for abortion. Also, she has sent me a legal notice claiming money as as household expenses in 6 months. When I said that I also paid many expenses, she said that there is no proof. What can I do? If I pay now, will the matter be over? I have no legal written agreement with her.

I am thinking to return back home to India without settling the matter. I talked to few lawyers What will be the legal consequence in India?
