Chque bounce but i am currently out of india

Hi Lawyers,

What action I can take against a cheque bounce? Presently I am out of India and will be back after 6 months or 1 year. Can I take action once I come back to India?

Please reply.

Anand

Action against cheque bounce has to be taken by serving the notice within 30 days asking for the repayment of the amount, whereupon the drawer will have 15 days to comply. In default thereof, the complaint has to be filed in the court under NI Act. If you postpone the action by 6 months, your action will be time barred. Consult a lawyer immediately to start the process.
