Can Police call any citizen of India to the police station on petty matters.
I have learnt that there is Apex Court judgement on this issue stating that Police of any state cannot call any citizen to the police station for investigation on petty matters. Instead, it is the duty of the police department to investigate the matter at the spot of incident.\
Is is correct or else what is the correct position on the matter.
