Dear LD Members,
After marriage uually wife's maiden name is disclosed and husbands Surname is annexed to her name. Whether this process is through customs and usage or is there any legal documentation entailed?.
Can a wife automatically continue to use her maiden Surname also whether she can discard it any time later, eventhough she haed already assumed and annexed such surname of her husband.

Thisn is only a custom and option of the wife to annex the name of husband after marriage. For official purposes, the executive accepts this change of name merely by intimation along with the maiden name.

Afthe marriage wife's will be known by her husband not by her parent surname. It is a tradition and custom. But working lady always use thier parent's surname. Even in the PAN CARD parent's surname is required. In a private concern wife can use his husband's name. But this is not in the Govt., concerns because marks card and her educational ceritificates are in her parent's surname.
