Mentally Depressed (will tell you later)     20 January 2013

Whether fir can be filed by speed post/register cover

As majority of Police stations are very rude and rough so majority of the complainant do not report the offence

If any complainant wants to disclose the cognizable offence committed by the accused. whether he can file the FIR by sending signed written complaint to the Police station by speed post/registered cover by avoiding his physical presence to the Police station at initial level for escaping from undue harassment??

no, he cannot file FIR as it can be registered only by police persons.

but he can send complaint by SP/RP.

hello,

u can also file under section 190(1).

complaint is defined under 2(d) of crpc. which says any allegation made orally or in writing to a magistrate.

so u can write directly to the magistrate
