Vaasal in front of our ancestral house

There is a common VAASAL in front of our ancestral house in a Tamil Nadu village. My neighbours who are also close relatives share the VAASAL. That is why I am calling it as common VAASAL. The ancestral house is more than 100 years old. In the village record, our VAASAL is recorded as SANDHU and the survey number shows the same poramboke. Is a patta possible in our name ? Will it reflect all the house owners ? We would like to do this so as to protect our common VAASAL from encroachment. Your advice will be of great help. Thanks,

A survey number showing as Poramboke land is not a Patta land in Tamilnadu and it is a government land.

Local terms are to enciphered by local lawyer(s), however, this platform is worldwide and not only for Tamilnadu.

I do not understand it properly, you may repost using legal terms.

Vaasal is a colloquial name, the name in the revenue records is poromboke which means it doesn't belong to any particular person and it is the government land.

Therefore you cannot claim either individual patta or even joint patta to that land.

However since it is a common passage you have the easement rights over it for ingress and egress purposes only.
