transfer of property shares between brothers

Myself and my brother had purchased a plot. Now he plans to transfer his share in my name. I was suggested to get a relinquishment deed signed. Is it the best way and most cost effective way to get his share transfered in my name ( we had got a lokadalat decree transfering his share to me, but my lawyer forgot to  register the same within stipulated time and hence i was told it is no more valid). Please advise.

The plot is already purchased for last 6 years. As he has moved out of india, he wants to relinquish his share. If i go for purchase deed, it wd attract registration fee and stamp duty. Please advise

It IS BETTER TO PAY  STAMP DUTY AND REGISTRATION FEES,FOR FUTURE . ITS BEING SELF AQUIRED PROPERTY  OF YOUR BROTHER IN EYE OF LAW ITS BETTER TRASNFER BY WAY SALE PURCHASE.
