Dear Experts,
In my engagement cermony my father was given a ring, my mother & sister ear rings and i a ring and a gold chain. Earlier she sent me a notice mentioning all these things alongwith cash that all this is her streedhan n kept with us so give it to back to her otherwise withing 15 days she will take legal action. We replied the notice that whatever was given is with you as after marriage we gave all to you. so nothing is with us(which is actually truth also).
Sir my question is because now 498 and DV cases are started can she claim all these as dowry because i have not taken any dowry not even a single penny. whatever was at ring ceremony we never know about it. Can she now claim them as DOWRY as earlier she mentioned them as STREEDHAN ?
