Power of Attorney - NI Act

Dear All, My father filed a case as per NI Act against 2 person for bouncing of cheque. Now the case for "Evidence". In 1st day of evidence, few documents has been accepted and court gave a second date for evidence. My father's health is not good and even he is a senior citizen. We live approx 70 km from court. He will not be able to attend the date. Can he gave me a power of attorney to attend the Evidence date ?
