Please assist me for this !!

I want to ask that If any boy and girl have done engagement but due to misbehaviour from girl's side relatives and other family problems that Engagement was Cancelled for Future and Relation between boy and girl was closed. But now Girl's Parents are threatening to us for DP FIR and other DP related acts on us, so I want to ask can it happen ?? Because we have not taken any Dowry during engagement and after only 1 month engagement was also cancelled. So please assist that what can they do cases on us for engagement cancellation and for Fake DP cases !!
