Hi everybody.I am a hindu girl married to a muslim boy.Although my husband didnot ask me to convert but circumstances were such that I got converted to islam and nikah was performed.My questions are as follows:
1. Can we register our marriage under Special Marriage Act?We have been married for 3 years now and also have a baby.
2. I donot want to change my first name in my official documents, although I have adopted my husbands surname.All my earlier official documents have "XYZ" since I had not used my surname earlier. Now I am using "XYZ Khan" and want to keep it this way only.I want to know the procedure for the same.
3. If keeping the old name is a probelm can we register our marriage as fresh (told by registerar)? But we have a child will it affect her status?
Want to mention that my husband is in full support of my choices and decisions and we respect each other's religion.
