The difference in spelling between "Samar" and "Somor" in your father's name across documents may potentially cause issues during the passport application process. Here's what you should consider: 1. *Documentary evidence*: Gather all documents with both spellings, including your father's ID proof, birth certificate, and your own birth certificate, school certificates, and other documents showing your father's name. 2. *Affidavit*: Prepare an affidavit explaining the reason for the spelling difference, stating that both names refer to the same person (your father). 3. *Declaration*: Submit a declaration form (usually provided by the passport office) stating that the variation in spelling does not change your father's identity. 4. *Passport office discretion*: The passport office may accept or reject your application based on their discretion. Be prepared to address any concerns they may have. 5. *Legal advice*: Consult a lawyer or legal expert to review your documents and provide guidance on the best approach. To avoid potential complications, consider the following: - Ensure all future documents, including your passport, show the correct spelling of your father's name (preferably "Samar", as it appears in his documents). - If possible, get your father's documents corrected to reflect the consistent spelling. Remember, the passport office prioritizes accuracy and authenticity. By providing thorough documentation and explanations, you can minimize potential issues.

That is already a big problem, it surprises me all the time that people discover at very latter stage upon some document issuance that their is correction in the perosnal details. Ignorants has to suffer

I have many documents beginning with school certifcate, various degree certificates, passport, PAN and finally Aadhar. In no two documents my name is the same. It was not because of any mistake on my part. The authorities (I mean the clerks in the front-room) note down my name differently. However I had no problem so far. But I cannot say that there will be no problem in future. With Big Brother always watching you and the requirement of KYC again and again there can be problems.
Wherever you have to produce your documents or make an application, you may not have to produce the documents of your father also or give a certificate that so-and-so is your father. Hence there may not be any problem. But if you rake the topic now with any authority that can lead to problem.
