Name change in gazette

Hi, My wife have name in all her legal documents and certificates as A. For some visa purpose we need a birth certificate and check with our Municipal office, it is been found her name was recorded as Sumathi. How to change her name and get birth certificate with the name as A. Please advise.

supporting documents need to change at this age because if without any document you can change from A to B as per your wish priscribed in the government press and here you say that birth certificate cannot be changed once issued only spelling mistakes can be rectified

All her documents in the Name of "A" , starting from school certificates , bank accounts ,etc.. We had found name was mistakenly enter 34years back. what is the way out.. we need to get birth certificate in the name of A, otherwise it hard for us to get visa. can you please advise what is the proper procedure for getting this done. We are not in india now.

For every thing there will be limitation.Now you want changes after 34 years.If you want a change of name you should approach the court of law and substantiate the purpose and delay then obtain court permission got it printed in gazette then change in passport and subsequently you will get the name in visa.
