Dear Experts,
The managing committee of our society is constructing a toilet and watchman cabin in the society without taking any permission from BMC or any other authority.
The new construction is blocking the road and might make it difficult for fire brigade to pass in case of an emergency.
Which law(s) are being violated with respect to fire safety statues?

1.Please provide me a copy of laid down norms and directives/mandatory procedure for permission/notification/ that states the Fire Safety norms for......storied building in Mumbai.

File a complaint with the 'Building & factory department' of MCGM of your ward. Any permanent additions or alterations without the writtem permission from the 'Building & factory department' of MCGM of your ward is ABSOLUTELY ILLEGAL.

The proposed construction of additional structures in the common area by the society is an illegal act.
You may prefer a complaint with the civic body within your jurisdiction about such illegal acts and request them to intervene and give a notice to the society to stop such acts which violate the law and also which are detrimental to the safety of the members of the association.
Besides you may also issue a legal notice to the secretary of the society in the capacity of the member to stop constructing such illegal structures in the common area
