Law against illegal construction

Hi. Can someone tell me which law states that any unauthorized construction inside the apartment of the building can be demolished/regularized. This is in locatiion of Navi Mumbai and the Town planning here is done by CIDCO. I tried searching for the MRTP act but I dunno if it is correct. Someone please help me out here.

Also, is it illegal to cover my attached terrace during monsoon using tarapaulins on Bamboo framework ?

Also, please tell me if I should inform the people in the municipal organisation to make this temporary shelter. Is it not possbile for me to simply put a shade on my personal terrace?

Please help me.

Sir,

One must have permission, in writing, from the [1] landlord/society and [2] local Municipal corporation, before carrying out any alteration in the flat, structural or otherwise.

The monsoon weather shed also needs written permission from local Municipal corporation.

Dear Sir Thank you for your prompt reply. I had covered my personal terrace with metal shades around 13 years back. Till the last one year no one raised any objection. Suddenly my neighbor complained to the authorities. can the law protect me in this scenario?

Sir,

You can now request your society and the local Municipal authorities to codone the monsoon shade as it has been in existance for a number of years, make a fresh application and get the necessary ratification.

Regards,
