Job appointment

Hi, I would like to have some clarifications on the previous employer details. I joined a govt service in April, 2017. After doing that job for around 1 year, I left that job on May, 2018 and started preparing for better ones. In the process of resignation , I resigned in obeying all the procedures properly and got all necessary relieving papers. Now when I apply for another govt job , I wouldn't like to mention the previous one as I don't want to face the tricky questions on my interview. So my first question is, if I now hide that things while filling the application forms, will it be problematic in the later stage? Second, if I don't mention it, will the police find it in the verification? Third, can I mention it on my police verification form without mentioning it on the initial application form as I have all the documents?
