I'm I eligible for farmer status for buying land?

Hello to all this is my first post. My father was farmer. He sold a land to jain trust near halol, Gujarat. After that he haven't purchased new land, and as per law you need to buy new one in a year or so. Now he died in 2015. It was not my fault he didn't bought a new land. So can I go to court to beg that give me a chance to become a farmer as it was not my fault. And as per natural justice a chance should be given to him. So I can purchase a agriculture land and become farmer again???.. If yes please give details in which court I can approach? My name is Shreyansh shah.
