How to transfer farm land ownership to brother

Hi there, My father owns property in Gujarat which was under his name and later on some how it was transferred to his brother's name. Now my uncle whose name the property currently is under is willing to sign any document necessary to transfer it to my father's name. What can be done in this situation and what type of cost are we looking at? We are located in the US. Does my father need to go to India to handle this? What are the forms that need to be filled out? How long would it take? And what are normal cost for some of this nature? Thanks, Ketan
