Grandmother's property issue

Hi All,

My maternal grand mother died in year 2000. She left behind her a huge house in main market of the town. She has 5 daughters including my mom and 1 son who died much before her death. After her death my 2 mausi and maami joined hands and sold the house without any consent of my mother and her other two sisters. They even did not came to know about this act for many years. This sale took place before year 2005. My question is can my mother take any action against this sale as she did not get her part in that sale proceed. I was told by some one that as the law related daughter's having right in property came after 2005 and sale took place before this so my mother cannot claim anything, is it true? and if so is there any way to get share from that sale proceed?

On and from the commencement of the Hindu Succession (Amendment) Act, 2005, in a Joint Hindu family governed by the Mitakshara law, the daughter of a coparcener shall,- (a) by birth become a coparcener in her own right in the same manner as the son; (b) have the same rights in the coparcenary property as she would have had if she had been a son; (c) be subject to the same liabilities in respect of the said coparcenary property as that of a son, and any reference to a Hindu Mitakshara coparcener shall be deemed to include a reference to a daughter of a coparcener: So all are must have equal share in the property.
