One of my friends car has been seized by forest ranger in Uttar Pradesh, his car was taken by some of his friend for personal purpose but in fact it was for carrying wood from reserve forest area. The car has been seized along with a guy. How to get the car back, what is the procedure?

Go through the Forest Act is there any amendment ? as in Uttarakhd only DFO is empowered to release , now court has no right to release the vehicle untill charge sheet is filed, DFO can release.
Otherwise file application to release the vehicle under Sec 451 Cr.P.C.
