Employment case_civil suit

Hello, I have a question. I was forced to resign in my company by a person who was harassing me badly and after that his actions started to trouble with my future employments at the time of back ground verification. I filed a suit claiming X amount as damages, now the case is ready for arguments. When I am preparing arguments, I found that I am also eligible for defamation and also punitive damages in my case as per law Now the question is, can I claim more damages at this stage, as i am eligible for at the time of arguments? I have paid only X amount as court fee for claiming Y amount. and now i am ended up with situation where i am actually eligible for Y+Z amount. What should I do? are there any citations where court granted more damages than claimed in the original Plaint? Please advice me .
