Tax consultant books for reference

Friends, One of my relative who has recently qualified LL.B. from Gauhati University wants to practice as a Tax Consultant. He is seeking information on the list of books that he need to refer to properly perform his work. Please advice.

For Income tax you can refer Dr. Girish Ahuja book. As far as GST is concerned, the Background material released by ICAI is available on idtc.icai.org. You can download the same. If you want you can order it in Icai cds portal.
