Challan received via sms but the vehicle doesn't belong to us

My senior citizen mother received SMS regarding a challan at Delhi court. We checked the v courts link the the challan exists and it is not a scam, but the name and vehicle (Haryana registration) doesn't belong to us. The challan is for tinted glasses. The mobile number is registered under my father's name.

It is giving us 4 options there, "I wish to pay the proposed fine", "I wish to contest the case", "My name or mobile number is incorrect. I wish to pay the fine by verifying Engine No and Chassis No.", "My name or mobile number is incorrect. I wish to contest the case by verifying Engine No and Chassis No.".

If I select my name and mobile number is incorrect, it asks for the Engine number and chassis number of the vehicle. But that is not our vehicle. If I select I wish the contest the case, it says the case will be transferred to regular court.

What should we do in this case? Should we just ignore the SMS as it is for someone else and being sent to the wrong phone number. Do we have any liability? Wherever I search, I see guidelines by govt saying that such messages are scam and people should ignore them, so ideally we would be following govt's recommendation by following them. And the fact that the phone is of my senior citizen parents, expecting them to follow through is again not right. But this particular one is not a scam and a case of messages being sent to the wrong phone number. (The number is not registered on parivahan portal I just checked)

You may ignore the message since it is irrelevant to you,  if you choose to challenge then you may have to strain too much and will become tired by the time it is disposed.

You may wait for another similar message and if you receive a similar message again then you can consult an advocate in the local and proceed as suggested.

You ignore the SMS. As the vehicle does not belong to you they cannot take any action against you.
