Can a lawyer record the client's brief?

In US and other countries, lawyers record their client's brief with mechanical voice recording systems for their future reference for preparing the case.  What is the position in India?  Can an advocate record voice or videograph  while the client is narrating the case brief?  Whether it is allowed or prohibited?  If allowed or prohibited whether thats under a law or any court ruling?

1. A very good question. The last I heard was a Lawyer from Bangalore (1-1/2 year back) he filed an Application for such permission from Bangalore HC.
2. To the best of my little experience in court till date as party in person I always wanted to do so as it would have helped me in future but somehow I never filed one such application.
3. There is no such guidelines / been allowed by any of the Courts of Law in India of such practice to the best of my knowledge.
May be seniors here may shed more light on this very nice practice.
Rgds.
