Agricultural land - electricity connections (issues) in karnataka

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is regarding the agricultural land electricity connection in Karnataka.

I have a piece of agricultural land in Hassan district, Karnataka.  I had applied for a self- funded electricty connection and my neighbhour had accepted for me to take the elctricty poles on boreder of his land.

After  my application approved from the electricity board and partial erection (90%) done. He has changed his words and requetsed to put the TC also in his land to take the connection.

I've temporarily stopped the work.

Kindly suggest what are the legal options available for me to continue the work/ to put the penalties or charges on him.

Thanks in advance

Quick Summary
A landowner in Karnataka's Hassan district is facing issues with a self-funded electricity connection for their agricultural land. After partial erection of poles on a neighbour's border with their consent, the neighbour has now reneged on the agreement, demanding the electricity transformer (TC) also be placed on their land. The landowner is seeking legal advice on options to proceed with the connection or address the neighbour's actions, especially as the work has been temporarily halted.

Had he given NOC? And is it based on the NOC that the work has been approved?

What is TC? What is its relevancy to your stoppin of the work?

Until and unless there's an agreement in writing with terms and conditions you cannot take any legal action based on the oral agreement.

You may enter into a legal agreement in writing on mutually agreed conditions.

Before investing such a huge amount in getting special connection with neighbour you should have taken his written consent and agreement to the effect.
