under senior citizens act father can seek maintenance from children
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 22 November 2014
Your wife is not liable for maintenance of your parents.
It is pity that you are running away from maintaining your own parents and is trying to put burden on your wife.

I have not heard this thing before.

Under section 125 of Crpc the father in law is not having any right to claim any meaintenance from his daughter in law...... And son is not having any exemption from escaping from his responsibility of maintaining his parents on the ground that he is not having job.....

Agree with Mr.Barman!

There is no law enacted till date entitling
father-in-laws or mother-in-laws to claim maintenance from their son's wife.
ajay sethi (Expert) 22 November 2014
father in law cannot seek maintenance from daughter in law . father can seek maintenance from his son not daughter in law

I also agree with experts, father-in-law is not dependant on daughter-in-law and vice-versa for maintenance.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 25 November 2014
In fact it is your responsibility to maintain your wife and your parents. instead you are instigating your parents to seek maintenance from your wife which is not only illegal but shame on your part.
V R SHROFF (Expert) 25 November 2014
you must feed your father, even by begging..
