All depends on the bye laws  of chs..

It is generally not illegal to conduct yoga classes in your house within a Mumbai CHS, as long as it's incidental to the primary residential use and doesn't cause significant disturbance to other residents.

The Maharashtra Cooperative Housing Society bye-laws don't explicitly prohibit such activities.

If the classes are conducted for a short duration and don't cause excessive noise, traffic, or other disturbances, they are generally permissible.

If the activity becomes a primary commercial venture with significant impact, it might be considered a breach of the society's rules.

Understand the specific rules related to conducting activities in residential premises.

If necessary, propose a resolution in a general body meeting to clarify the rules and regulations.

If the society committee do not object, you can.

It is the fundamental right of every citizen of our country that he has the freedom to practise any profession, or to carry on any occupation, trade or busines. This right coulrd be regulated or restricted only through a law enacted by the competent legislature. The Housing Societies are not empowered to make any bylaw to this effect unless so authorised by the Act governing the functions of the CHS.

What do you mean by conducting Yoga classes?  If you conduct Yoga classes to students and charge fees it becomes a business. It amounts to change of user of your flat from residential to business. The Municipality allows certain trades. I do not know whether Yoga classes are allowed. In any case the Society can object unless you have taken their permission for change of user. If you conduct the classes for a small number of persons free of cost as a social service and if your conduct of classes do not disturb others in any manner you can conduct them. If a number of students come to the class and leave their foot-wear, umbrellas etc in the passages or make noise other members and the Society can object.
