You have posted that:
---The land was owned by your father's grandfather. If your father's grandfather died without disposing it in his life time by a valid deed e.g. WILL/Gift/sale etc then it shall devolve upon his ClassI legal heirs and as per succession laws on date of his death, e.g. wife, sons , daughters.
---Your grandfather is one of his legal heirs.
---Your grandfather's share shall devolve upon as per succession laws on date of his death, e.g. wife, sons , daughters.....
So obtain the chain of title of ownership from local revenue office (patwaari), copy of WILL and show these to an able counsel specializing in family/revenue/property/civil matters and well versed with local laws and understand the merits and options.
