Stamping Backdated Agreements

Hi,

Can an Agreement executed 3 months back be stamped as on this day? If yes, what is the procedure? Will the provisions under the relevant stamp act for the instruments not duly stamped apply?

Thanks.

if  document was required to be stamped , it is not valid unless duly stamped. a stamp can be used in future but how can it be used before it's date of issue. therefore stamp duty will be payable as applicable on the date of its issuence or future date of execution.

hello respected friends, seniors, colleagues,

Since the forum is about back dated registration of documents.

I have query, its about the adoption deed made in the year 1998, on a 100/- stamp paper. Can it be registered now? But the year should be 1998 as if registered in the year 1998. Can it be done so?

Regards,

Anuradha
