Share certificate transfer

Dear Team, i have bought a resale flat in dombivli east. when i bought that flat 2 years back, at that time society was formed and working. membership transfer done in presence of my seller by giving required transfer charges as well as document. but that time share certificates was not released to the members as it was new society. now society is releasing the share certificates . can any body suggest me that if share certificate can directly releasein my name or it has to be issued in the name of previous owner and then it's to be transferred to me.
