Rights in Co-operative housing society

Hi,

Two years back i moved in to a new Co-operative housing society in Mumbai along with family. My family includes one elder sister & two elder brothers (both married)  & our parents. We are staying together in Mumbai city since our birth. There are two  flats in the society owned by me & my sister.

My elder brother has a vehicle and was parking same in building premises. We were told in a society meeting yesterday that my brother cannot park his vehicle in society premises. Society says as per "bye laws, that if the flat is in name of a person, only his wife & childrens are allowed. If the flat is in name of father only his son, daughter, wife & daughter-in-law is allowed for parking vehicle. " Since flat is in my name I have been told that my brother cannot park his vehicle, though we argued that we are staying 365 days X 24 hours together in  a single flat.

This whole stand of a Society is thoroughly objectionable to me. I want guidance on :

1. Is there any law for a person staying in hindu undivided family which can protect me.

2. What does the Co-operative society act say (in Mumbai). Can some one provide me online copy / URL of same.

3. Also please comment whether  by staying together whether i fall under Hindu undivided family laws.

Awaiting guidance.

Regards,

Nilesh
