Resignation from state service to accept central service

Sir,

I have been serving in Kerala Govt. Civil Supplies Department since Jul 2009. At present . I am on probation period as I have entered on leave (Leave without allowance) from Jan 2011.  Now, I have been selected for Central Govt. Service through SSC. The offer of appointment  will be issued within 3 to 4 months.  I do not want to re-join  to State Service as the place of working and job nature is not convenient for me.  In this circumstance, now itself can I resign from service to join Central Service. If any trouble there? Please ansewer.

In case you sent your application (SSC), then you are supposed to get relieving letter from the present employer and should produce the same before the new employer.  Othewise you can resign and happily join new job.

It seems you have not applied for SSC through proper channel. In that case, your resignation  would not be a technical resignation that needs formal relieving by the State Government on selection in the Central Government. You can resign even during probation period. But, if some training expenses would have been incurred by your department and you would have signed any bond or agreement at the time of entry in service, you may have to reimburse such expenses on asking. Otherwise there would not be any complicacy on resigning, provided all other conditions of your appointment in the present service are satisfied. So, be sure about your present service conditions.
