You can approach the District Consumer Redressal Commission for the deficiency of service if a banquet hall retains your advance, though success depends on your cancellation timing.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Advocate) 20 July 2026
If you have substantial proof for the payment made to the banquet hall, you may first issue a legal notice demanding the refund of the amount paid, failing which you may proceed either through consumer redressal commission or through civil court for recovery of your money. You may search for a lawyer locally or one from this website too
Dr. J C Vashista (Advocate ) 21 July 2026
