Abhishek (Manager)     24 May 2013

Resignation and notice period

I work for a multinational company in Gurgaon, I has recently resigned from my position on April 30, 2013. In my offer letter it is mentioned that “After confirmation of services, either party can terminate the employment by giving two months notice which comprises a non negotiable mandatory working period of 1 month, with the remainder of notice period being negotiable on both sides (to agree on the release date & salary payment in lieu of notice if any).”

Now I need to join my new firm on 12 June 2013 but my Manager is not releasing me, I am ready to buyout the non mandatory notice by paying the salary amount. But I fear that they will extend my notice beyond 2 months. Please suggest if I can taken any legal help in this regards.
