I have purchased a property of value of 18 Lakhs and accordingly Registration charges of Rs. 18000/- was to be paid. However due to oversight I issued a draft of Rs. 30000/-. The registrar also did not verify the cheque amount and issued me a receipt of Rs. 18000/- So an excess amount of Rs. 12000/- has been paid by me and which is also unaccounted in Govt records as the receipt given to me is of Rs. 18000/- only.
What is the procedure to get the refund of Rs. 12000/- which has been paid by me in excess due to oversight.?
