Purchasing temple land with patta in temple name

Dear Experts,

Is it possible/advisable to buy temple land with patta in temple name.

Can anyone explain IFR (Inam Fair Register) and SLR (Settlement Register) documents. How to collect photocopy/xerox of particular period say 1950 - 1990 of IFR, SLR

Who is the seller? Why the temple land is being sold?

Its service land/maniba sothu, someone already sold that land to XYZ-1 and i am going to buy from XYZ-4. There are almost 4-5 transactions happened from XYZ-1 to me, say from 1944 to 2015.
