I need information regarding redevelopment of cessed building in mumbai- dadar area. One of my friend ( Mr X ) had got a room in a cessed chawl from his father( Mr. Y) by way of gift deed. Mr. Y continued to stay in the room whereas Mr. X moved out to suburbs. All taxes & rent till date are paid by Mr. X and he has all proofs in original alongwith gift deed. The chawl is considered under redevelopment and mhada had recently done a survey where Mr. Y alongwith his second son has managed to insert name of Mr. Y as occupier and name of Mr. X continues to be listed as tenant. I have following queries,
1. What is the position of Mr. X ( tenant ) in the redeveloped flat.
2. Will Mr Y ( declared as occupier ) have any right in the redeveloped flat.
