Investigation of possible corruption in RWA by lokayukta

Can Lok-Ayukta or UpaLokAyukta investigate RWA for possible corruption? A few disgruntled tenants residing in the apartment complex have covertly decided to file a complaint with Lokayukta/Upalokayukta to force it to investigate into the functioning of the RWA office bearers. Is this really possible? Alternatively, under whose ambit can investigation of functioning of RWA be carried out?

Dear Mr. Manoj.

If the office bearers of a Resident Welfare Association [RWA] of an apartment complex are suspected of corruption, can lokayukta be requested to investiagte?

Alternatively if lokayukta is not the competent authority to investigate a private RWA, who else can be requested to conduct an enquiry for suitable action?

Best wishes.

RWA is a society registered with Registrar of Societies of the district under Societies Act. The Registrar has powers to conduct inquiries with regard to working of the registered society with it. File a formal complaint to the Registrar of Societies where the RWA is registered.
