In India, income tax files are confidential documents, and accessing someone else's tax records without their consent is generally not permitted. However, there are certain exceptions and legal ways to obtain this information in case of disputes: 1. *Legal heir*: If your uncle has passed away, you may be able to access his tax records as a legal heir. 2. *Authorized representative*: If your uncle has authorized you to represent him in tax matters, you can access his tax records. 3. *Court order*: In case of a legal dispute, a court may order the production of tax records. 4. *Income Tax Act*: Section 131(1) of the Income Tax Act allows the Income Tax Department to summon and inspect any documents, including tax records, in certain circumstances. To access your uncle's tax records legally, you should: 1. *Obtain his consent*: If possible, get your uncle's consent to share his tax records. 2. *Consult a lawyer*: Engage a lawyer specializing in tax and family law to guide you through the process. 3. *File a legal petition*: If necessary, file a legal petition to access the tax records, citing the relevant grounds and supporting documents. Remember, accessing someone else's tax records without proper authorization is illegal and can have serious consequences. Always follow the legal procedures and seek professional advice.

If the copies have been submitted before court then you can file a copy applicaiton before the court seeking certified copies of the same.

If not then you can file a petition directing him to produce the same before court or to issue direction to income tax department for production of the said returns.
